    First Camera Phone
    In 2000, Japan's SoftBank introduced the world to the first camera phone, the J-Phone JSH04. The first model was a flat phone but then a month later the company released the flip phone version. This first model allowed users the ability to send and receive pictures wirelessly which was much faster and more convenient than waiting for them to be developed at a photo shop or having to carry around a big, bulky camera.
  • PowerMac G5

    PowerMac G5
    In 2003, Apple introduced what's said to be the first true 64-bit personal computer, the PowerMac G5. At the time of release, the Apple G5 was considered the most powerful Macintosh ever and even assisted Virginia Tech with creating a supercomputer that was ranked #3 on the world's Top500 Fastest Computers list in November 2003. Although there have been many upgrades and new releases since this one, the G5 allowed users to utilize tools and applications a lot faster and more efficiently.

    In 2007, Amazon released The Amazon Kindle. This electronic reading system was the first of its kind to gain popularity in the mainstream market. The Amazon Kindle quickly became popular as the device allowed users to easily access content via Amazon.com, utilize the SD slot for additional data storage, and readily access heir favorite books while traveling or away from home.

    Apple iPhone
    Another famous release in 2007 was Apple's first Apple iPhone. This device encompassed a first of its kind combination of a web browser, music player, cell phone, and touch screen capability. Another cool feature that was beneficial to many users was the built-in GPS navigation. This allowed users to quickly access the most efficient routes to their desired destination and listen to the directions real time instead of reading printed out directions while driving.

    MacBook Air
    In 2008, Apple released their first light as feather laptop, the MacBook air. This device quickly became popular due to its convenient size and weight and the fact that it still encompassed many of the high level features from Apple's MacBook such as an integrated camera and Wifi capabilities. This notebook-like device allowed users to conveniently travel with their personal computer and quickly access the necessary tools and applications for work, school, and leisure.
