AT&T introduction to instant messaging
Instant messaging is initially introduced to the U.S. Texting has completely changed the way we communicate. Now a simple quick little message is all you need in order to talk to others. Initially texting was something that was more of a luxury, as text messages could add .50 per message to ones phone bill. Now texting is unlimited for majority of all phone companies. Text is iconic and even 2 decades later it still is a main mode of communication. -

The first smartphone to enter the market. Blackberries are what paved the way for androids and iPhone today. The Blackberry is considered the first smartphones, they have calendars, allow for email access, and texting. -
Nintendo Wii launches
The Wii revolutionized the way we play video games. It was the first console that required one to physically move in order to play. Instead of sitting in one spot, a player was now required to move. This is the older version of what a now modern day VR is. Shigeru Miyamoto is the known creditor for creating the system. -
The first Apple iPhone
Steve Jobs launches the first apple iPhone. Now this phone isn't like your regular cellphone. Like any phone it allows others to make calls but what makes it different is the internet access it has, allowing people to surf the web on their own handheld device. You can watch videos, take pictures, and receive E-mails on this phone, something phone prior couldn't do. Now all phones are capable of doing the same! -
4G Network takes the U.S
A new type of internet speed takes the internet by storm. Most applications we use now rely on 4G in order to work properly. Applications such as Netflix, Uber, Spotify, and Google maps are some of the few but most used apps we use. Without 4G these apps are incapable properly functioning.
