    Our signing of Independence from Britain. It was signed after the American Revolution.

    This was a convention to figure out how the United States were going to be governed. Spent most of the the time discussing the weak central government found in the Articles of Confederation.

    Thomas Jefferson was voted into office in the 1800 Presidential election. Thomas Jefferson ran against John Adams and won the election.

    The United States bought the Louisiana purchase from France in 1803. THis helped with the "Manifest destiny" movement westward.

    Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes booth. The assassination took place during a play in Ford's theatre.
