    McCollum v. Board Of Education
    Mrs. McCollum was the mother of a son who was part of the Champaign Illinois public school system. The school sent out permission slips for kids to attend one class a week of religious education. The case was brought up to supreme court and was ruled unconstitutional due to the fact that it violated the rule where any government funded school cannot practice religion. (separation of state and religion)
  • Board Of Education v. Pico

    Board Of Education v. Pico
    The Island Trees Union Free Board of Education banned certain books from the curriculum for being "filthy". Steven Pico brought this to federal court and the board won. Then they filed an appeal and took the case to the Supreme Court and they ruled that the boards decision was unconstitutional and goes against the first amendment.

    Guiles V. Marineau
    The school tried to tell the boy he couldn't wear a shirt because it displayed images of alcohol and drugs. The case was ruled as unconstitutional and went against his 1st and 14th amendment right.
