  • 1995- Playstation released in US.

    1995- Playstation released in US.
    In 1995, Sony release the PlayStation in the United States. The playstation console was first realeased in Japan in 1994. Sony had created a game system project that supported both games and the audio CD playback. Sony had great success with this release and became a dominant player in the home gaming market.
  • 1997- First Digital Video Disc

    1997- First Digital Video Disc
    The first DVD( digital video disc) is introduced. The DVD's memory and storage capacity were a huge increase from the CD. DVD's were adopted in the film industry for consumer release of movies. They were preffered over VHS due to better video and audio quality, interactivity, and improved life span.
  • 1998- Imac is launched.

    1998- Imac is launched.
    In 1998 the Imac Macintosh desktop computer is launched. This was the first new product under Steve Jobs leadership. It is considered the most significant step in Apples return from nearly going bankrupt in the mid 1990's. Since the imac, Apples profit increased significantly.
  • 2000- First camera phone

    2000- First camera phone
    The first camera phone was introduced in 2000. Japan introduced the J-Phone, a phone with intergrated camera. The J-phone released a flip-phone version shortly after. After a year, cameras became a significant part of most phones.
  • 2000-USB Flashdrive

    2000-USB Flashdrive
    The "thumb drive" was fist comercially available in 2000 and was produced by Singapore company Trek Technology. Dov Moran is believed to have first conceptualized the USB Flashdrive in 1998. USB flashdrives would be replacing the floppy disks in years to come. USB drives were produced in different storage sizes that allowed documents, photos, and videos to be saved. They became very popular due to their compact size, portability and durability.
