    Amazon is Launched

    Jeff Bezos launched "Cadabra" in 1994, but changed it to Amazon the following year. It is now the largest online retailer in the world and has become a staple in online shopping. Amazon, with their shipping speed and delivery on-demand services, has become the leading retailer for a wide variety of services including: products, books, movies, etc.
  • Wi-Fi Becomes Available to the public

    A major stepping stone to much of the technology and almost all online services we know now was the start of Wi-Fi. A majority of devices we use everyday use Wi-Fi and most homes in America have their own personal Wi-Fi.
  • Bluetooth 1.0

    In 1999 was the launch of Bluetooth 1.0, while the most latest Bluetooth technology we use now is 5.2 (launched January of 2020). Bluetooth is something we first saw used to connect PC and cellular phones; now the technology is used in everything sound systems, cars, thermostats, ovens, and much more.
  • Mac OS X Released

    Now known as macOS, originally called Mac OS X then again changed to OS X, was available to the public in 2001. Still one of the (other) most popular operating systems used now in Apple products.
  • Intel Releases Dual-Core Processor

    In 2005, Intel, along with AMD, releases their first version of their duel-core 64-bit desktop processor. Being able to process information through multiple units, this advancement allowed computers to achieve much higher performance results and operate more efficiently.
