    The United States invaded Panama to overthrow the dictator, Manuel Noriega. This raid was on the charges of endangering U.S. nationals, suppressing democracy, and drug trafficking. An underlying motive for the American military was access to the Panama Canal, which would greatly improve trade to the west coasts of north and south America,

    L.A. erupts in civil unrest in deadly riots
    These 1992 civil riots in response to four officers being acquitted in trial after the beating and death of Rodney King. All officers used excessive force when arresting King, and the tape was widely broadcast and seen by many people. These violent riots resulted in 63 deaths, 2,383 injuries, and 12,111 arrests. The result of the riots was that many residents bought self-defense weapons.

    Hurricane Andrew was a catastrophic category 5 hurricane that made landfall in the Bahamas, Florida, and Louisiana on August 16, 1992. This massive hurricane, with wind speeds reaching 141 miles per hour, decimated everything in its path. Causing $27.3 billion in damages and causing 65 fatalities. Along with its high death toll, Andrew caused 445 non-fatal injuries, most being puncture wounds and illnesses.

    America Eliminates Tariffs on imports from neighboring countries
    The goal of this free trade deal was to eliminate barriers for trade and investment between the U.S. and its neighbors. This reduced the tariffs on about one half of Mexico's exports to the U.S. This was drafed and put into action by President H. W. Bush, Canadian prime minister Brian Mulroney, and Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari. The main idea was to stimulate trade and economic success for each of the counties without high tariffs.

    After Theodore John Kaczynski's papers concering radical environmentalist and opposition to technology were rejected from two Chicago area universities, he manufactured and delivivered his first mail bomb. He also bombed an aircraft which caused injuries from smoke inhalation, and the president of United airlines, who was injured in the explosion. There were 7 more bombs, four at universities, one at a professors home, the Boeing company, and one at a computer shop. 6 were injured and 1 killed.

    transworld airlines flight 800 was a Boeing 747-100 that combusted and crashed into the Atlantic ocean 12 minutes after takeoff. The explosion was caused by a fuel tank explosion caused by a short circuit. All 230 passengers, flight attendants, and pilots were killed, with no survivors. Many eyewitnesses say they saw an object heading toward the plane before it exploded, but there was no solid evidence of terrorism.

    This was a domestic terrorist attack on Olympic Park in Atlanta. The terrorist pipe bombing that was during the Summer Olympics being held in the city. This incident injured 111 people and killed 2. A security guard found the area and cleared most civilians before the bomb denoted. This was the first of four bombings committed by Eric Rudolph.

Applewhite, the cult's leader was very religious, using his Presbyterian upbringing and warping the bible in a way that related to his own interests. He managed to convince his acolytes that God was an alien. He believed that if he and his posse "left their earthly vessels behind" they would be allowed access to the giant spaceship hovering above earth. This resulted in 39 dead people in tracksuits.

    The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) proceeded with airstrikes against Yugoslavia, bombing Serbian military bases. This was launched after a second wave of "ethnic cleansing" was initiated against Kosovar Albanians on March 20.

    High school students launch shooting at Columbine High School
    The Columbine Massacre was a high school shooting and attempted bombing initiated by two twelfth-grade students. This occurred in Columbine Colorado and resulted in 15 deaths, including the perpetrators, and 24 injured. Fortunately, the bombs never detonated and as many as 600 people were saved. Both boys were detained and arrested before any more damage could be done, likewise, each boy was thoroughly checked for psychological damage.
