    1991: Linux Operating System (computers)
    In the summer of 1991, a breakthrough in the world of computing and technology was born out of one person's hobby and love for computers. Linus Torvalds, a student who attended the University of Helsinski in Finland, was building a new operating system for his 33-MHz intel PC called the "Linux". What started as an ambition to construct new operating systems for his Unix Intel-based PCs ended up being the key and future of an operating system that governs much of the modern internet.

    Despite the first appearance of mobile phones in the market and general public in the 1980's, it wasn't until 14 years later that Nokia launched its first cell phone in the model of the "Nokia 1011". With cell phones at the time being bulky and heavy as well as difficult to carry around, this new device was the first GSM produced phone (Global System for Mobile Communication) and the design was sleeker and thinner than its predecessor in "the brick".

    As we know in today's world, video games have become a prominent treasure trove amongst the newer generation of Millennials and Gen Z but before it's boom in the modern day, the concept of console gaming was still in its infancy and on December 3rd of 1994, Sony released its first PlayStation in Japan which sold for 37,000 yen which is equivalent to 387 dollars in America. With its popularity in Japan, it was soon released in America in September of 1995 with huge success.

    3 years before the dominate entrance of the apple company and its revolutionary products in the modern 21st century, i.e., the iPod, a company from South Korea called 'SaeHan Information Systems' created the first MP3 player device that went by name of the 'MPMan' in 1998. The device had a storage of 64MB which was enough to download 18 songs at the time. The concept of a portable music device had now evolved into touch screen phones and Itunes/Spotify capabilities.
  • 2000: First Camera Phone

    2000: First Camera Phone
    The J-Phone JSH04 was the first camera phone introduced by Japan's Softbank company. The Integrated features of this new invention at the time enabled the camera to have a maximum resolution of 0.11 megapixels and a 256-color display to which photos can be shared wirelessly. The Implementations of this design led to laws in several countries regulating their use since a year later most phones with built in camera's would become a significant part of the world.
