They found a way to connect hypertext with the internet and the World Wide Web was launched in 1990. It was originally proposed in 1989, but again wasn't launched until 1990. Since the initial launch, the web has grown into the vast network it is today and has become more accessible.

    In 1992, the Apple CEO at the time coined the term for the Apple Newton. The first actual personal digital assistant was the Apple Newton Message Pad. The PDA technology is often claimed to have made smart phones a reality.
