Mr.Charrington is a minor character in 1984. He was born in 1921 in London, It's still the dull looking London except that it is controlled by Oceania one of the three superstates in 1984. Mr.Charrington is known to be a widower who has a deep cockney accent.

The world has changed

1940

The world in 1984 is a bare, hungry compared to the one in 1914-1940.
-Science and Technology develop at prodigious speed but it was affected because of the different wars and revolutions.
-It appears the atomic bomb which was for industrial centers.
-Helicopters were bombing planes (Self-Propeiled projectiles).

The period of the great purges

1960

In the middle sixties, the original leaders of the Revolution were wiped out once and for all. It appears the counter-revolutionaries.

The last survivors

1968

Because of the confession of their crimes against the party, Jones, Aaronson and Rutherford were executed.

Revolution

1970

It appears the leaders of the Revolution. Various Party members intrigues against the leadership of Big Brother which had started long before the Revolution happened.

Katherine-Winston

1973

Katherine parted because of not having children with Winston). Winston was unrolling a wad of documents.

War is peace

1980

Oceania was at war with Eastasia and at peace with Eurasia.
-It was an absortion of Europe by Russia and a British Empire by the United States, two of three existing powers, Eurasia and Oceania, were effectively in being.
-Eurasia covered the whole northern part of the European and Asiatic land-mass.
-Oceania compromises Americas and the Atlantic Islands.
-Eastasia was smaller and compromises China and the countries in the south of it (Japanese Island and Manchuria).

Winston (30 years old) and a part of the party, begins to write in a diary after he discoveres a corner of his room that is undetectable by the telescreen.
Also, he was fixing at Parsons house

Winston' Dream

Winston begins to have dreams of his mother and sister, realizing the way he had treated her. Also, he knows her death would not have been recorded (was affected by the party). Winston worked on miniplenty altering reference to Comrade Withers. Lunch with Syme and Parsons interrupted by Ministry of Plenty`s announcement.

Winston went to places of London

Winston visit some places where the proles lived, and he talked to an old man, came back to junk-shop where he bought the diary, found out many buildings had changed their purpose but come from before the revolution.

Facecrime-Problematic

Winston and a few collegues are discussing things that they do and Party related topics when they are interrupted by announcements from the telescreen. The goverment use a psycological manipulation and physical control as a means of maintaining its power.
