Mr.Charrington is a minor character in 1984. He was born in 1921 in London, It's still the dull looking London except that it is controlled by Oceania one of the three superstates in 1984. Mr.Charrington is known to be a widower who has a deep cockney accent. -
Mr.Charrington
Mr.Charrington in my opinion, is a hypocrite, he does not really have the choice since or not he will be brainwashed and will be put to death by his own greatest fear, to the use of the 4 ministries. Mr.Charrington is the one who gave Winston a diary. Though Mr.Charrington is a member of the thought police and presents love and belief in Big Brother and the 4 branches of ministries which are controlled by Big Brother. Mr.Charrington is from the Prole District. -

Prostitute - Winston
Winston has sex with a prostitute to show that he wants to defy the party. In Oceania you were only allowed to have sex if you were being watched, and you needed to show no kind of emotions such as joy, pleasure, and passion. Feeling for one another while having sex would be a huge crime in Oceania. When you read in chapter 6, Winston is going to meet up with a prostitute and this shoes how much he desires to defeat the party.
As you see in the picture below 2+2 was equal to 5 in Oceania. -

Farewell
Probably one of the most inconsolable moment in the book is where Julia and Winston run into each other, a glimpse of each others face turn to be the last thing they see before going away. -
Where Is The Love?
"Love Big Brother! Never do anything unless it's for Big Brother! Your own freedom is slavery! Remember Big Brother is watching." The last and probably saddest moment is where Winston recaps his mother of how beautiful she is.
