    Trickle Down Economics was generally associated with Reagan during his presidency. This belief was that if more income was given to consumers, that it would trickle down as they spent their money and affect everyone.

    On November 4, 1979, a group of Iranian students ambushed an American embassy, taking over 60 American hostages. After the end of Carter's first presidency was over, however, the hostages were released on the 21st of January in 1981.

    On this day the violent protests in China ended after almost two months. The incident was when Democratic supporters set up camp in Tiananmen Square in China to protest communism and turned violent after the Chinese troops took over through force.

    Operation desert storm was the US military plan to overwhelm neighboring Kuwaits. The plan needed up being a success and the first success for the US in the gulf War.

    The USSR collapsed due to the agreement of establishing a Commonwealth of Independent States. The country then began to be known as Russia. This event basically meant the final step towards the end of the Cold war and although it resulted peacefully, there is still tension between the US and Russia today.
