  • Hard Disk Hardware

    1980 saw the debut of the ST506 microcomputer hard disk drive by Seagate technology, which would replace the floppy disk. The hard disk drive would be able to carry five times the megabytes of storage compared to the floppy disk. This allowed for more memory to be available thus making it less of a hassle when it came to storage issues.
  • TCP/IP

     TCP/IP
    In 1981 the TCP/IP was introduced. The TCP/IP was a set of communication protocols utilized on the Internet and other computer networks. This was invented by Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn. Without this, today we'd be lost in terms of the internet.
  • The Compact Disk (CD)

    The Compact Disk (CD)
    1983 saw the development of the compact disk, a joint venture by both Sony and Phillips. The CD was used to store information as well as software. Nowadays these aren't used as much but they sure paved the way for what followed.
  • C++

    C++
    1985 saw the creation of the programming language C++. This was used difficult programs to be written way easier than before. Bjarne Stroustrup was the inventor of this language.

    Hand Held & Portables
    1989 saw Nintendo release the Gameboy as well as Steve Jobs releasing the Macintosh Portable. These were pioneers in the hand held division as they allowed for smaller and far superior hand helds would be released down the line.
