  • First commercially hand held phone released

    Motorola releases the Dyna Tac 8000X. although, the development of the cell phone took many years to incorporate, Martin Cooper and his engineers at Motorola were the first to release a phone that would revolutionize the communication world.
  • First successful mass produced pc that "had it all"

    Steve Jobs reveals his invention to the world. The Apple Macintosh. This computing system had a graphical user interface, built in screen, and a mouse. It was the first mass produced all in one desktop pc.
  • Open the Window

    Microsoft's Founder, Bill Gates, led the development of Windows 1.0, and with it's release, Microsoft achieves a huge milestone. Windows goes on to become the most popular desktop operating system in the world.
  • Let the games begin.

    Nintendo Releases The Game Boy. A wildly popular hand held gaming device developed by the company's developer, Gunpei Yokoi. This new system is far superior to anything that came before it. Due to it's interchangeable cartridges and long battery life, it becomes immensely popular, selling a million units in just a few weeks.
