Philips Home VCR
The original VCR was invented in 1956, but the Philips Home VCR model was invented in 1970. The N1500 model offered a domestic cassette recorder, a recording timer, a playback function, a total upgrade where you could record some of your favorite programs. E-mail
Ray Tomlinson invents the "email" system: he invented the first system that was able to send mail between different hosts and users, using an "@" to link with the destination across ARPNET. This invention has incredibly changed our lives and we use this service on a regular-day basis ranging from calendar notifications, getting coupons from your favorite stores, and even emails from your relatives. -
Pong
Invented by Allan Alcorn, Pong was a game from Atari Inc. that was supposed to be similar to table tennis and is one of the first video games invented! Pong was just the beginning for video games, sparking Atari to continue to develop video games for the future and has definitely molded what some arcade games are today and laid down the foundation for video games. -
Inkjet Printer
Developed by Hewlett-Packard (HP), the first Inkjet printer is invented. An inkjet printer "prints" or creates an image through adding droplets of CMYK ink onto paper. Although they did not gain popularity until 1988, lots of modern families use Inkjet printers for home projects and for having a printer at home. -
Cellular Network
In Japan, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) launched the first commercial analog-based cellular network. Later, in 1983, the first commercial hand-held phone would be released, but the invention of cellular network has have only exponential growth. With having mobile phones seen more and more in our modern world, the expansion from the original 1G network to now 5G network has only broadened our horizons for mobile devices that use cellular network.
