  • Disneyland Opens

    Disneyland was the brainchild of Walter Disney and was and has been to this day a huge success. As profits grew, they built another theme park called Disneyworld across the country.
  • Rosa Parks

    Rosa Parks, a civil rights activist, refused to give up her seat to a white man on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. This sparked a bus boycott and a huge civil rights movement that lead to racial equality.
  • NASA

    NASA was established in 1958 to further the study of space and space travel. This organization was used to win the space race against the USSR and is still studying the intricacies of space.
  • Alaska and Hawaii Become U.S. States

    Alaska was annexed as a state due to its surplus of oil and Hawaii was a great tourism spot. These two states helped America flourish economically.
  • The Kennedy Assassination

    President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas, Texas while driving through Dealey Plaza. His shooter, Lee Harvey Oswald was tried and arrested for the murder of the president.
  • Martin Luther King Jr. was Murdered

    The civil rights activist MLKJ, was shot by Ames Earl Ray. This assassination was seen as an opposition to the civil rights movement.
  • The Civil Rights Act of 1968

    This bill passed by President Johnson gave equal housing opportunities to everyone and made it a federal crime to force or by the threat of force, injure anyone based on religion or race.
  • First Man on the Moon

    Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first two people ever to walk on the moon. This was a symbol of the human progression. This event would further lead to further travels in space like how a martian colony will be started in 2024
  • Microsoft

    Bill Gates founds Microsoft, one of the biggest companies in the world. This company overtime dominated the tech industry for decades.
