  • Ku Klux Klan Christmas Eve Bombing

    Ku Klux Klan Christmas Eve Bombing
    On Christmas Eve the Ku Klux Klan planted a bomb under the bedroom of married couple Harry T. Moore and Harriet V. Moore. The explosion killed Harry on the spot and his wife nine days later. Their daughters were unharmed in the blast. They were killed because the Ku Klux Klan didn't like how Harry was openly for civil rights and that he was active in trying to further it.

    This war began in the year 1955 and didn't end until 1975. Many young men were sent to fight in this war and many didn't return home. One of the biggest issues that were brought up by the media back here in the US in regards to this war was the age of all of the young men that were sent to die most of them were barely 18 years old.
  • University of Alabama Desegregation

    University of Alabama Desegregation
    Three black students wanted to attend the University of Alabama and the President ended the segregation of schools allowing them to do so but the Governor of Alabama at that time stood outside the school in protest. The president had to order the national guard to force Wallace to step aside and allow the students to enter and in doing so making them the first African American students to ever attend the university.   • John F Kennedy's Assassination

    The president was assassinated in Dallas Texas by Lee Harvey Oswald. The assassination of the president was a tremendous disturbance to the American people as it was the first in many Americans lifetimes, the man who assassinated him was killed by Jack Ruby before his trial.     After a long "war" for equality, the U.S. finally passes the Civil Rights Act in 1964. The legislation outlawed any form of discrimination against, race, gender, age or religion.     This revolutionary group known as the Black Panther Party was a group that believed in equal rights for African Americans and white people. The group started in the year 1966 and ended in 1982. The group expressed their desire for equal rights through a rhetoric military posture. They used a violent outlook compared to MLK's peaceful protests.     The US sent astronauts into space in order to prove technological superiority compared to the Russians. It was considered the Space Race as they tried to show who was more superior. The US put the first man on the moon and deemed the winners of the Space Race.

    his scandal involved a break into the Democratic National Commities headquarters at the Washington Complex in Washington D.C. After extensive investigation, the president at the time Nixon was found to have knowledge of the Scandal and soon after tapes of what was happening in the oval office but there were gaps in the tapes though and Nixon was found to be withholding evidence; after this event.   • Roe v Wade

    Roe v Wade

    This hurricane was the most intense tropical cyclone of the 1974 Atlantic hurricane season. This cyclone didn't dissipate until September 10th of that year. During its rampage, the hurricane destroyed much of the coast.

    The Three Mile Island Incident was when one of the reactors on the island had a meltdown and resulted in the domino effect of the other reactors melting down. The entire island was left in an irradiated mess and still remains on alert almost 40 years later. This is one of the worse Nuclear accidents in American History
