Who-Germans, Greek soldiers, and allied troops
What-22,000 German soldiers arrived Crete which was guarded by 28,000 allied troops and an equal number of Greek soldiers. Many of the soldiers that arrived by parachute, glider, and troop carrier and died or were injured on impact. The rest were under supplied and inexperienced resulting in over 4,000 deaths. Despite these failures, Germans successfully captured Crete
