    A meeting in Russia between Franklin D, Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Joseph Stalin. They discussed what was to be done after the war. Stalin promised free election to Germnay and Japan. They also dicussed the future government of Eastern Europe with the Soviet Union to be a friendly one. They also reduced the reparations for Germany.

    A meeting between Truman, Stalin, and Churchill to discuss post-war arrangements in Europe. This resulted in a joint proclamation by the U.S,, Great Britain, and China involving the surrender of Japan. The ultimatum of the proclamation was that Japan must agree to an unconditional surrender or face "prompt and utter destruction."

    Berlin Airlift

    When Stalin wanted to kick out the Western Powers from Berlin he cut off the food supply, and power coming from eastern Berlin. This came to be known as the Berlin Blockade. In response to this event the Western Powers initially chose war to end the blockade. British Commander Robertson offered the alternative of an airlift to supply western Berlin. The airlift was so succesful that a sum of 2,425 tons of supplies were brought in daily. The Berlin Airlift lasted for a total of 13 months.
