Where: This happened in the Pacific Ocean off Midway island
When: This happened over a 3 day period where the 3 US carriers fought 4 Japanese
Why: The Japanese wanted a naval base in the middle of the ocean so they could attack easier

This Battle took the Lives of over 1,000,000 people and ended with the Germans surrendering and led to their invasion of the U.S.S.R to end
