The Japanese invasion of Manchuria was by the Kwantung army of the Empire of Japan. It was right after the Mukden Incident. The Kwantung army’s general was Shigeru Honjo and he ordered his forces to the south Manchurian railway. The troops moved up the rail way and captured almost every city along 693 miles of railway. The Japanese occupied Manchuria until the end of World War II. -
Lindbergh’s baby kidnapped
Lindbergh’s baby was kidnapped from his family home in New Jersey on March 1, 1932. Two months later the toddler’s body was found near there home. It was found the kid had a large fracture of the skull that caused the death. -
Amelia Earhart
Amelia Earhart was the first women to fly across the Atlantic Ocean solo. Doing this she won the Distinguished Flying Cross. She was 34 years old at the time, when she set off from Newfoundland. It was a 14 hour and 56 minute flight in her single engine plane. She landed in Northern Ireland. -
Assassination attempt on FDR
FDR was delivering a short speech from the rear seat of a open car because of this disability. All of this is normal until 6 shots were fired and 5 people were hit. Giuseppe Zangara was the attempted assassin. -
Invasion of Ethiopia
This was fought between The Kingdom of Italy and the Ethiopian Empire. The war resulted in military occupation in Ethiopia and exposited the weakness of the League of Nations. Italy and Ethiopia were part of the League of Nations. -
Hoover Dam
The Hoover dam once known as Boulder dam, is on the Colorado river. It is a concrete dam in the black canyon. When it was made it was the largest concrete structure and biggest power generating station but today it’s the 38th largest. -
The Hindenburg Disaster
The German passenger airship “LZ 129 Hindenburg” caught of fire. It was destroyed while trying to dock it at the Lakehurst Naval Air Station. There was 97 people on board and 35 of them died. -
Japanese invasion of China
When Japan captured the capital then they went on to invade all of china. The Soviet Union signed a non-aggression pact with china to lend them materials. The Japanese even flooded the Yellow River to give them an advantage. -
Panay incident
The Panay Incident was when Japanese attacked the United States Navy gunboat. The boat, panay was anchored up in the Yangtze river. Japan and the US were not at war that the time.Japan said they didn’t see the US flags painted on the sides of the boat. -

The National Minimum Wage is put into action known as the Fair Labor Standards Act. The minimum wage was $.25. It was also called the Wages and Hours Bill. -
munich conference
The Munich Conference was called and Hitler met with representatives of France, the United Kingdom, and Italy. Hitler wanted to take over the "Sudetenland" region of Czechslovakia and make it part of Germany. All four countries signed the agreement so Hitler could invade Sudetenland but only Sudetenland. Sudetenland was occupied by Germany between October 1 and October 10. Although Germany then broke the agreement and invaded Czechslovakia too. -
The Anschluss
This is when Austria was annexed to Germany. They held a referendum to ask Austrian people if they wanted to be independent or merge with Germany but the referendum was cancelled. Power was transferred to Germany and troops went to Austria to enforce the Anschluss. -
Non-aggression pact
A non-aggression pact is a treaty between two or more states agreeing to avoid war. They would try to resolve their problems peacefully. A good example was between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany that lasted until 1941 when Germany invaded the Soviet Union in Operation Barbarossa. -

The war began with the German invasion of Poland and Britain and France declared war on Germany two days later. Then the Japanese invasion of Manchuria. -

The Battle of Britain is air campaign between the German Air Force against the United Kingdom during the summer and fall of 1940. This was the first major to be fought by only air forces. Eventually to got to attacking areas of political significance and using bombing.
