A Congressional resolution by both houses is signed by President Warren G. Harding, declaring peace in World War I hostilities with Germany, Austria, and Hungary. The treaties would be executed one month later. -

President Harding signed the Fordney-McCumber Tariff into law and called it one of the greatest tariff bills ever created by Congress. He also assured the American people that the new tariff would contribute to the growing prosperity in the United States for years to come. -
Model T. Ford
The first car was invented in 1896 by Henry Ford it was very expensive, middle class people wanted to make it affordable. The Ford Motor Company in Detroit made the Model T. Ford, the first affordable car. Ford produced more than a million automobiles, at a rate of one per minute! Each car cost $335. They used an assembly line to speed production. -

The KKK was reborn believed that America should be racially pure, which means they discriminated the blacks. The Klan became very strong in many states, including non-southern states. The Klu Klux Klan had over 5 million members in 1924. It tried persuade politics by using violence, but by the end of the decade the Klan began to decline. -
Scopes Trial
High school teacher John Thomas Scopes was charged with violating Tennessee's law against teaching evolution instead of the divine creation of man.It was also the first trial to be broadcasted on live radio. -

Lindbergh was the first person to fly nonstop across the Atlantic. He flew because he heard there was an offer of $25,000 to anyone that would dare to fly nonstop. He flew 3,600 mile in 33 hours -
