The league of Nations came after the ratification of the Treaty of Versailles to end the anger that WW1 had caused. Nine days after the The League of Nations the US senate has voted against joining.

He was sentenced to one year in prison and a fine worth 100,000 covering the bribe, 100,000 dollars in 1920 is equivalent to $1,225,600 in 2017
