Women get the right to vote. Once women got the right to vote, they had power in the government. What they thought actually mattered to the people running for political offices, because they now can change the outcome of elections. -

Although the first car by Henry Ford was very expensive, people wanted to make it more affordable. The Ford Motor Company in Detroit made the Model T. Ford, the first affordable car. Ford made the car more affordable by making the cars in mass production. -

In his grandfathers house in Atlanta Georgia he is born. As a child Martin faces many prejudices. He later goes on to become a preacher and a leader in the civil rights movement. -
Klansmen March
40,000 Ku Klux Klansmen march on Washington. Their white-hooded procession filling Pennsylvania Avenue. This is known as the largest public Klan gathering. -
First non-stop transatlantic flight in history.
Charles Lindbergh leaves Roosevelt Field, New York on the first transatlantic flight. He would reach Paris thirty-three hours later. A parade is held in New York City when he returns on June 13. -
Amelia Earhart
Amelia Earhart becomes the first woman to fly over the Atlantic Ocean. She did this in a Fokker tri-motor aircraft. Her co-pilotsfor this flight were Wilmer Stultz and Louis Gordon. -
Start of Great Depression
In Oct. 1929 the stock market crashed in America, causing a Great Depression. The banks shut down due to having no money. Their was a major rise in unemployment and poverty. -
Saint Valentine's Day Massacre
Chicago mob dressed as cops, pulled over several rial gang members, put them against a wall, and shot them. As stated in the name this happened on st. Valentine’s Day. The mob was run by Al Capone.
