  • Treaty of Versailles

    When the sign of the Treaty of Versailles it was WW1 officially ended on the 28th of June 1919. After strict of enforcement for 5 years, the french have an agreement that the modification for the important provision.
  • British Broadcasting Company (BBC) is created

    BBC was created by leading wireless manufacturers. After a few stations closed down, BBC started their radio service in London, England. BBC was the first station to run daily programs.
  • First Electronic Television

    The first electronic television was successful in San Francisco by Philo Taylor Farnsworth. He sent an image through a device called an image dissector, known as the first electric TV. He did not accept the first money offer from a company called RCA for the rights to the new technology.
  • The Great Depression

    The Great Depression was the worst economic dip in the history of the industrial world. It started after the stock market crash in October 1929. Wall street was sent into panic and millions of people stopped investing.
  • Empire State Building built

    The Empire State Building is a skyscraper which is 102 stories tall. It was completed in New York City, USA in 1931. The Empire State Building was the tallest building in the world until the 1970’s.
  • Hoover Dam built

    The construction of the Hoover dam took over 5 years to build. There were 21,000 workers in total who worked on the Hoover dam. The dam only took 5 years to build but the construction of parts took nearly 30 years in the making.
  • The Star Spangled Banner became US National anthem

    In 1931 the President of the United States signed paperwork which said that the song “The Star-Spangled Banner” would be the national anthem for their country. The writer of the anthem got his inspiration from seeing the British attack on Fort McHenry in Maryland in the war of 1812.
  • 32nd president of USA

    The 32nd president of USA was Franklin D. Roosevelt. He elected for to be 32nd president in 1932. He re-elected again in 1934 by comfortable margin.
  • ABC News was introduced

    ABC officially started on the 1st of July 1932. On the first day the Prime Minister Joseph Lyons and the radio announcer for ABC Conrad Charlton spoke. ABC stands for Australian Broadcasting Company and began so audiences could listen to quality radio. It followed the BBC structure.
  • Last known Tasmanian Tiger

    The Tasmanian Tiger also called Thylacine were blamed for the death of livestock. Once British settlers arrived the population of the Tasmanian tiger dropped. The last wild Tasmanian tiger was shot in 1930 by a hunter and the last tiger died in Hobart zoo in 1936 and after that last one died the species was extinct.
  • Olympic Games in Berlin

    The Olympic Games in 1936 was held in Berlin, Germany. Germany was a very political country because the Nazi government had power. They got their power 2 years after the olympics was given to Germany. The Olympic committee were worried that Jews would not be able to participate which happened. The Berlin olympics was also the first olympic torch relay.
  • Airship Hindenburg explodes

    A giant 245m long airship called Hindenburg was docking at Lakehurst in New Jersey when it exploded. Airships are like big balloons filled with a gas called hydrogen. The hydrogen caught on fire which made the airship explode, killing 35 people.
  • Amelia Earhart disappearance

    Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic ocean. She was also the first person to fly from Hawaii to mainland, USA. On the 2nd of July 1937 her plane went missing after losing contact with control. Her flight was part of her challenge to be the first woman to fly around the world. The search party was called off on the 19th of July 1937.
  • WW2 began

    WW2 was started, after the WW1 it set another stage of international conflict in the WW2, that was broke-out 20 years later and prove that even more damage. The rise of the power in an politically and economically it was made unstable for Germany.
