    The Zimmerman telegram was sent, intercepted by the British and passed on to the Americans. The Zimmerman telegram was a diplomatic proposal from Germany to Mexico offering to give back the states of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas if they invade USA. So, it was important because it is one of the reasons of why America joined the war and why she took the side of The Triple Entente.

    Britain was one of America’s closest trading partners. Several U.S. ships traveling to Britain were sank by German mines and, in February 1915, Germany announced unrestricted warfare against all ships that entered the war zone around Britain. On this day in 1917, the lethal threat of the German submarine raises it's head again.

    Gotha bombers (German Air Service) bombed London. 158 were killed with 425 wounded. It was the worst British civilian casualties of the war. The Gotha bombers were a heavy bomber used by the Luftstreitkräfte during World War I. Designed for long-range service, The Gotha bombers were used principally as night bombers.

    Caporetto is in Italy. A battle in which France, Germany and Austria-Hungary were involved. Germany and Austria-Hungary were allied and won.

    He came in quietly not like the Kaiser Wilhelm who did not.
    The battle lasted one day until the officials of the city gave the keys to Allenby.
    Allenby assured them that the occupying power would not inflict further harm on Jerusalem.

    U.S.A was not the first country to declare ear on Austria-Hungary during WW1.

    The newly formed Russia proposed Germany a separate peace.
    It took a while till they got to an agreement.
    Russia opens separate peace negotiations with Germany (Brest-Litovsk). Russia wanted peace with Germany.
    The treaty was signed on the March 3, 1918. This treaty gave Germany the territory of Ukraine, Finland and Polish and Baltic territories. Germany on the other hand had to remove their army from Russian lands.
