1915-1935 timeline

  • treaty of Versailles

    the treaty of Versailles was a conference that planned out a way to punish Germany and benefit all allies. only the victors made decisions and forced Germany to sign. its called the treaty of Versailles because it was signed in the Versailles palace near Paris. this was not what the Americans ideally wanted but thwey were out numbered
  • league of nations

    this was a group of high class powers that was created after WW1. they wanted to enforce the treaty of Versailles. wanted peace and tried to settle disputes between countries. the overall goal was to prevent another war.
  • communist international

    they were a group of communist nations that tried to spark a social revolution. they had certain things you had to complete to be able to join this group. they wanted to ruin other countries and spark a war between those countries
  • fascism in italy

    Benito Mussolini was the one who started the fascist movement in Italy. He created a group called the black shirts that terrorized Italy and anyone who disagreed with his political views. the black shirts were mainly ex soldiers that were tired of the old government. they wanted to push Mussolini views and gain respect from other countries.
  • hopeful years

    for Germany this time period was the first time they had decent government stability. the Wiemar republic was gaining respect and stability again as they were attempting to rebuild the economy and country. the years leading up to these were years of depression and rebuilding, these years got them pretty much out of that. streseman was the chancellor of Germany during this time and he was the main man causing this rebirth and respect. he won the peace prize in 1926 for his work in Germany
  • Stalin power in Russia

    Joseph Stalin ruled for 25 years and did it in a dictatorial way. he used force and propaganda to promote himself. he turned Russia into a world power and turned the soviet union into a communist country . he was very impulsive and had many purges to maintain order. Russia thrived during this time but really didn't really enjoy having him as a leader because of these violent purges.
  • great depression

    the great depression happened on october 29 1929. when the stock market crashed the economy plummeted. this made life difficult and really hard to find a job and money. this crash negatively affected all countries that the US was helping at the time like Germany. we couldn't help them pay off their debt like we promised. farmers were hit the hardest as prices went down and no one could buy it so they really struggled. this crash affected not only america but everyone associated with america.
  • japan invades Manchuria

    this invasion was thought to be a soldiers invasion. theirs no proof or evidence that any leaders or any government officials actually wanted or planned the attack. thought to be a fire starter to world war 2. caused a higher demand for defenses in Manchuria.
  • germany goes in all alone

    Germany was trying to isolate themselves as a power country for a very long time.they wanted to e debt free and not owe anything to any one. he wanted to gain power and he was very successful in the beginning of his reign by defeating Poland and wanting to win was west of Germany. the were not playing a big role i any country pact and started to attack enemies such as England i 1940. these attacks didn't pan out well ad this sparked the inevitable war.
  • third reich

    Hitler became the chancellor of Germany, and a new regime was designed. created to replace the Wiemar republic.they needed a replacement because the Wiemar republic was in high debt and was struggling as america went into the great depression. Nazism and communism was on the rise and Hitler was a very good speaker and got people together and with him at the right time. this group and movement would be the main factor in world war 2 because of his radical action and values.
