    Cuba wanted freedom from Spain and was at war with spain. America was against Spain so we went to war with Spain on Cuba's side. America was to free Cuba from Spain only to take it over again. In the end America won the war and took control over Cuba, Guam, Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii.

    President McKinley Assasinated
    On September 6th Leon Czolgosz shot president William McKinley. Later on Leon Czolgosz was electrocuted for his crime. Eight days later on the 14th McKinley died. Vice president Theodore Roosevelt soon became the 26th president.

    World war 1 started from all of the tension coming from all of the wanted power. The immediate trigger for the war was the assassination of the archduke of Austria-Hungry who was to be the next emperor. 170,000,000 people were killed in World War 1 and Over 100,000 were Americans.The sides of the war were the Allies and The Central Powers. The Allies were Britain, France, Russia, Italy, and the USA. The Central Powers were Germany, Austria-Hungry, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire.

    The Lusitania sunk from a German submarine killing 128 Americans. America entered the war because of Germany not following the submarine war rules and because Germany was about to make an alliance with Mexico.

    On June 28th Germany made a peace treaty with the Allies that was to officially end World War 1. The treaty of Versailles reassigned Germany's boundaries. It took place in the hall of mirrors.

    Charles Lindbergh was the first person to go on a solo plane flight. Lindbergh rode for 33 and a half hours from New York city to Paris France.It was the first flight over the Atlantic ocean non stop.

    The dust bowl was a huge cloud of dust that covered the entire plain. Animals and people starved to death because the dust was destroying their crops. 7,000 people died and 250,000 fled the dust bowl. People would clean their dishes and then would have to re wash them because they had so much dust on them.
