After accidently killing chief Sitting Bull his tribe fled and eventually was caught by an american calvary as well as another tribe. After an accidental weapon discharge fighting began and the Massacre left 300 native americans dead. -

Congress passed the comission in attempt to persuade the Cherokee to cede their complete title of the cherokee outlet. After a great deal of pressure the cherokee agreed to the sum of 8,595,736. -

Indian Territory Becomes Eastern Part of Oklahoma
Before Oklahoma became a state it was Indian Territory which meant that settlers were not allowed to settle or claim the land there. After the Civil War parts of the territory were claimed by the Government and right away settlers wanted to settle there. However the government saw that this could occur right away. 19th Amendment passed
Congress passes the 19th amendment which effectivley gave women the right to vote giving them a far advancement in being truly equal to men
