This was an important event as it was one of the impacts of imperial expansion on international relations. -

The Spanish American War was started by Cuba's movement for independence. The U.S joined this cause mainly to keep trading with specifically Cuba. The U.S won, and Spain ceded multiple countries to America. This was the key moment in America doing imperialization. -

The Russo-Japanese war was a war between Japan and Russia. This was due to Russia wanting a warm water port and seeing Manchuria as the best option. This caused the war between the two countries, funny enough Japan won due to Russia being unable to send reinforcements in time. This is important as it was the first time a major world power had lost to Japan establishing themselves. -
Assassination of Franz Ferninand
The assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the heir to Austrian Hungarian leader led to the Austria declaring war on Serbia. This led to the European war being triggered by the alliance system.
