W. E. B. Du Bois creates the NAACP which allows for many African Americans to write their own literature just like Du Bois did. -

Women advocates finally get the right to vote which has been a prominent motivation in many Feminist authors. -
18th Amendment
This banned the sale of alcohol which was one of the main focus in many progressivist writings just like women suffrage. Many writers wrote on this topic and how the government effected it. -
Great Depression
The largest economic downturn in America's history which allowed for any authors to write about how bad life was. -
Star Spangled Banner
Star Spangled Banner becomes national Anthem. It was a poem written during the Revolution showing how American poets can influence America as a whole. -
The United Negro College Fund
A nonprofit organization which helped black people with scholarships which would help many black authors to be able to publish their work.
