    The treaty of Ghent was signed ending the war of 1812 when both sides realized that fighting was useless.

  • Missouri Comromise

    Missouri was added to America as a slave state while Maine was added as a free state.

  • Andrew Jackson is Elected

    Andrew Jackson is elected as the seventh president of the United States.

  • Public Railroad

    The first public railroad is established in Baltimore.

  • Indian Removal Act

    The Indian Removal Act is passed which gave Jackson the power to forcefully remove the Native Americans from their land and move them west.

  • The Battle of San Jacinto

    The Battle of San Jacinto is the last battle in the Texas Revolution. It ended and gave Texas their freedom to later join the United States.

    Gold is discovered in California which causes people to flock to that area to find gold and make money.

    South Carolin is the first state to secede from the union.

    The Civil War begins in America between the North and the South over slavery. The South is pro-slavery and the North is anti-slavery.

    The Civil War ends between the North and South which ended in a victory for the North who was going against slavery.

  • Slavery is Outlawed in the United States

    Slavery is made illegal in the United States.
