    17th century the education was different, in well off families both boys and girls went to a form of infant school called pretty school. however only the boys went to grammar school. upper class girls were taught by tutors. middle class girls might be taught by their mothers.often upper class boys were taught by tutors. education was not a requirement, to many education was a dream.Once the population started to grow, each colony was required to have at least one school teach students academics.
