General Thomas Gage led the british troops to confiscate arms from the Rebels. They were met at concord by rebel forces and excganged fire, The rebels took heavy casualties and lost the battle. -

The british being stuck in boston launched an attack on the Americans. The americans fought back two charges from the british, but with resources exhausted, the british took bunker hill on a third charge. The british won the battle but suffered heavy casualties. -

Battle at Saratoga
General Burgoyne tried to attack american forces but was forced to fall back to Saratoga. American militia then flooded in from all sides and forced Burgoyne to surrender over 6000 soldiers. This was a big loss for the british and was the cause for the French to side with the Americans. -
Battle of Camden
Horatio Gates lead american forces to camden. This march exhausted his troops although they fought anyway, The militia retreated without firing and was a big devastation for the americans. -
Battle of Cowpens
Nathaniel Greene was placed as the leader of the southern milita after the battle at camden. Greene strategically lined his troops to appear to be retreating. The british soldiers chased after the retreating forces but were met by all the other american forces and suffered a major loss. -

An agreement between the founding 13 states establishing that they were sovereign and they served as the first constitution. -
Battle at Yorktown
General Cornwallis and his british forces were trapped in yorktown with american forces surronding them on land, and the french naval fleet at their backs. after weeks of bombarding the british, the americans charged yorktown and cornwallis was forced to surrender which was a major cause for the end of the war. -

Treaty that negotiated the end of the revolution between the British and the Americans. recognized American Independence. -
