Enclosure Movement Creates Movement of People
The Enclosure Movement began in the 1750's, it let wealthy people enclose their land so that they could implement the four field system. This led to the movement of farmers and their families to large cities to find work. Cities rapidly grew in size from the movement. -
Captain Cook Discovers Australia
On the 6th of May in 1770 Captain Cook landed in Australia, because of the abundance of plants they had to take back to England they named the place Botany Bay. They were threatened by some of the hostile natives who threw curved sticks towards them that then returned. The Captain then chose to land further up shore to avoid them and claim Australia in the name of Great Britain. -
James Watt and Matthew Boulton Invent The Steam Engine
In 1775 James Watt and Matthew Boulton developed a steam engine for powering machinery. This was a major event in the industrial revolution because it increased production of many items and led to the invention of the train. -
First Fleet Arives in Australia
in 1788 the first fleet arrived in Australia made up of 11 ships carrying over 1480 men, women and children. it landed at botany bay after 3 months at sea. This was the beginning of many who would settle in Australia over the decades and it would affect the lives of many. -

in 1800 Alessandro Volta invented the Voltaic Pile which was the first practical way to produce electricity. The battery is a very important invention as it allows people to portanbly use devices with having to plug them in for electricity. -
First Steam Powered Train Was Developed
The train was a major leap forward in the industrial revolution. People could now mass produce items and sell them all over England, they could also visit far away places in much less time. -

Stolen Generation Begins
During the 1870's to 1900's half cast children were forced out of their homes or stolen in the streets to learn the ways of the white people. They were not permitted to visit their families and most of them grew up never having an identity because all of their records were lost. -
Australian Federation
In 1901 the 6 States of Australia united and became one country. This led to our great country Australia and the federal parliament. Laws now applied to the whole country and it was one of the biggest moments in Australian history. -
Wright Brothers First Fly
On the 17th of December 1903 the Wright Brothers took a flyer for a sustained flight of 12 seconds. This was a major leap in history which led to men creating planes and eventually landing on the moon. Without these two inspiring brothers we would not be able to fly to the other side of the world in a matter of hours. -
Henry Ford pruduces Ford T model Automobile
This was the creation of the first affordable car for middle class people. The assembly line led to rapid mass production and a lower sale price. People were then able to move across places faster and more efficiently at an affordable cost. Later other cars would follow and the whole car industry would boom. -
Titanic Sinks
The Titanic was the worlds largest passanger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on it's maiden voyage. It was meant to be the unsinkable ship but it crashed into an iceberg. 1500 people died when it sank. -
World War I Begins
This was the beginning of the first was that shook the world. 60, 000 Australians died and 156, 000 were wounded of the 400, 000 soldiers the went to the war. Many more died from other countries and it effected the lives of just about everyone in the world. -
World War I Ends
The end of World War 1 was on the 11th on November 1918 when the German Army surrendered. Many lives had been lost and many people were effected by the war. It was meant to be the war to end all wars but World War 2 still happened 20 years later.
