Elevators were already invented by 1853, but elevator cars falling made passengers feeling unsafe. In 1853, Elisha Otis invented the elevator safety brake to stop the elevator car from falling if a wire breaks. Without the elevator safety break, deaths would be increasing and using elevators would be unpleasant and scary. -

In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell invented the first telephone. I strongly believe that the telephone has truly changed the world and the way people communicate. Communication between humans became more convenient and ease-free. -

Thomas Edison creates the first electrically powered light bulb. This changed the world because it now allows for humans to resume their work during the night. This meant that workers were able to work at any time of the day. -

On this year, Australia officially becomes one federation and is no longer 6 separate colonies. Australia becoming a federation has changed the country in many different ways. -

World War I began in 1914 and lasted until 1918. During the war, Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire (Turkey) fought against Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Japan, and the United States. WW1 has affected the world in so many ways, without WW1 some important treaties wouldn't have been made and some countries wouldn't have come up with different inventions and discovered new things.
