    After the impacts of the atomic bombs, Japan realized the power behind the bombs and knew it would not be smart to continue the war especially after the Soviet Unions entry into the war against Japan. This fits under military because of the power America had over Japan because of the atomic bomb.

    When France asked the US for help against the Vietminh, this put Americans officials in a difficult position because the US opposed colonialism. It had pressured Dutch to give up their empire in Indonesia and supported the British decision to give up India Independence. This is political because the US couldn't support what they already opposed.
