    Nazi Invasion of Poland
    Germany invades Poland by attacking several targets. They start by using The Luftwaffe to launch air attacks. By 8 am the army attacks the city of Mokra. This begins World War II
  • Warsaw Surrenders

    Warsaw Surrenders
    Massive air and artillery bombardents resulted in Warsaw having no other choice but to surrender to Germany. The Germans began their campaign against the Jews and making them live in the ghetto cities.
  • Germany invades Netherlands, Belgium & Luxembourg

    Germany invades Netherlands, Belgium & Luxembourg
    Germany invades the three countries and quickly drives into Northern France. This causes the French and British forces to become two. Also on this day, Winston Churchill takes charge.
  • Dunkirk Evacuated

    Dunkirk Evacuated
    The British evacuate 200,000 British troops and 100,000 French troops from the beaches of Dunkirk. They were stranded in France due to the German victories. The soldiers lost equipment but were able to still fight.

    Germany Invades Russia
    Four million German troops scatter into Russia. Within one month two million and a half Russians were captured, wounded, or killed by the Germans. Hitler ordered maximum cruelty resulting in such harsh treatment.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    The Japanese Navy sent bombers and torpedo planes in two waves, launched from six aircraft carriers into Hawaii. Over 3,500 Americans were killed or wounded in just two long hours. This is when America entered the war, and it is known as the turning point of World War II.

    Roosevelt orders Japanese to be exiled
    President Roosevelt orders all the Japanese and Japanese Americans to be removed and placed in "relocation centers" for the remainder of the war. These were very similar to concentration camps and the Japanese were basically being imprisoned.
  • German 6th Army Surrenders at Stalingrad

    German 6th Army Surrenders at Stalingrad
    This was said to be the turning point in the war for Russia. They attacked from the outside and trapped 300,000 German soldiers. This threw Hitler's offense in the Soviet into a disorder. It was one of the deadliest wars and the population of Stalingrad fell from 850,000 to 1,500 by the end of the war.

    D-Day
    The Allies (America, Britian,and Canada) invade the Normandy beaches. This started the attacks in France against the Germans.
  • First Atomic Bomb on Japan

    First Atomic Bomb on Japan
    On July 26, 1945 te US told Japan to surrender in the Postdam Declaration. The Japanese government payed no mind to this Declaration. Next month by executive order of President Truman, the US dropped their nuclear weapon nicknamed "Little Man" on the city of Hiroshma. It ended World War Two.
