-
(5 bya) Solar system created
The solar system was a swirling mass of gas and dust. -
Period: to
world history
-
(4.6bya) formation of planets
the planets formed through repeated collisions of space debris -
(4 bya) carbon
half of the carbon in a sample will have decayed. -
(3 bya) photosynthetic life
some forms of life have become photosynthetic. -
(3.5 bya) stromalite fossils
1/2 of carbon -14 stromalite fossils in the sample will have decayed -
(2.2 bya) earth forming
earth has formed as it is today. -
(2 bya) oxygen
the oxygen levels on earth reached the same level that they are at today. -
(2 bya-1.5 bya) prokaryotic life
a type of aerobio prokaryote was engulfed by and began to live and reproduce inside of larger anaerobic prokaryte. -
(1 bya) ozone layer
ozone (O3) formed, it protects organisms from harmful UV rays so they can exist on earths land -
(1700-1800) Spanazani's expirements
concluded that boikled bottle became contaminated only when microorganisms from air entered flask. Most people didn't agree with his findings. -
(1800-1900) urey miller and oparins hypothesis
urey miller experiments produced organic variety compunds of amino acids. Oparins hypothesis was that chemical reactions fueled by energy from lighting and ultraviolet radiation would result in macromolecules essential to life(proteins). -
(1900-present) sydney fox, thomas cech and lyn marguiis
sydney fox has done research on structures that gave us first info about cells. thomas cech found RNA that is able to act as chemical catalyst similiar to wayan enzyme acts. lyn marguis proposed that early prokariotic cells may have been developed a mutually benefivial relationship with other cells. -
Redi's experiments (1600-1700)
he showed that flies only came from egss layed by other flies. his hypothesis was confirmed and a major blow was struck against the hypothesis of spontaneous generation(the vital force).
