This was the date of Bessie being born. She grew up in Rally North Carolina and then moved to New York. Growing up she had the job of being a dentist. -

Basically saying that blacks and whites were "seperate but not equal". Trying to keep certain people from interacting with eachother. -

A law that was meant to keep blacks and whites seperated. Keeping them from using the same bathrooms and water fountains. They even keep the schools segregated. -

This was the year that women rights to vote were allowed. Ever in history so it had to make women feel somewhat equal 2 men having the right 2 vote and everything. -
Jackie Robinson
This was the 1st African American baseball player in history. Many people probally disagreed with this action taking place but he proved to them that he deserved to play just like anybody else. -

Was meant to keep schools segregated. -
Rosa Parks
A lady during the 1900's who sat on the bus in the front because she was tired after a long day of work. She refused to go to the back of the bus and give up her seat for a white man. -
Emmett Till
This was a young boy who was brutally beaten for whistling at a white women in Mississippi. He came down from Chicago and didn't relly know the rules down south and how much more strict they were about blacks and whites. -
M.L.K. I have a dream
Martan Luther King who stated in his i have a dream speech that there should be nothing wrong with blacks n whites coming together as one. He hoped to see that one day we could come together as one. -
Martan Luther King gets assinated
This was the year Martan was killed. He was murdered at a hotel when he was just relaxing on the patio. -
Bessies death
This was the year Bessie died. But Bessie lived a long life after living for 104 years. -
1st black president
In this year we have elected are 1st black president in history. This is a big change because some people never even though about the U.S. having a black president.
