The Allies decided to dived Korea into North and South. This is a main reason as to why North Korea eventually invades South Korea. -
Russia Enters War Against Japan
To add with all of the other conflicts going on with China and their problems, now another war begins in Asia. This, along with the rest of the conflicts, will begin to devastate Asia's landscape. -
Chinese Revolution Begins
China began to have a revolution and Mao Zedong wanted to turn all of China in to the communist People's Republic of China. -
The Soviet Union's Atomic Bomb
The Soviet Union had their first successful test of the Atomic Bomb. Now the United States and the Soviets both had deadly war-ending weapons at their disposals. If either one had the upper-hand during a war, the other could possibly use an atomic bomb. -
The People's Republic
The People's Republic was formed under Mao Zedong. This was shocking to the United States and it was feared that this communism would soon spread across Asia. -
The Chinese Republic
When the People's Republic of China was formed, a group of people broke away because they wanted a democratic system instead. This group temporarily made Taipei, Taiwan their capital in December 1949. -
North Korea invades South Korea
North Korea invades South Korea in hopes to unite the Koreas into one communist country. The North pushed the South far until the United States came in to help the South fight back. This helped the South push the North back to their own side. -
Armistice
With the help of the United Nations, the armistice was created. This made Korea to stay divided by the 38th parallel.
