The Proclamation of 1763
This is important because The Native Americans were afraid when the British moved west into the land that they won from the french that it would destroy their way of life. They tried to drive them away by attacking their houses, leaving many of them dead. -
The Sugar Act
It was important because this Act increased tax that many of the colonist used such as tea, and coffee, and indigo. This was one of the first instance in which colonist wanted a say in how much they were taxed. -
The Currency Act
This is important because the Acts sought to protect British merchants from being paid in not appreciated colonial currency. -
The Virgina Stamp Act
This was important because the new tax made Colonist furious. They didn't want to pay more money for things they used everyday, because the money went to the Bristish government. The stamp act was parliment's first serious attempt to assert the governmental athorities over colonist. -
The Quartering Act
This was important because the colonist did not want to pay for this army. Because of that, in 1765, a new law called the Quartering Act was passed the Bristish Parliment. -
The Declaratory Act
This is important because the government repealed the Stamp Act because boycotts were hunting British trade and used the declaration to justify the repeal. -
The Boston Massascare
This was important because the colonist were still angry when the soldiers took away their jobs by working low pay in their spare time and thoguht they were rowdy and rude to them. It was a street fight and they threw snowballs stones and sticks. Several colonist were killed. -
The Gaspee Affair
This was important because it was a significant event in the lead-up to the American Revoution. -
Boston Tea Party
Colonist dressed up as Indians and threw tea boxes overboard. Colonist were angry about purchasing from one company and the high taxes.
