Termination Policy
The termination policy was based on the Native Americans. There land uses, agrrements conneted to thhe government. Having land and fertile soil, with hunting areas i basically what a Native American needs to survive and live. This was taken away from them. -
Operation Wetback
Operation wetback actually took place in areas near the border to Mexico. It was an operation that was assigned to immigration to capture illegal immigrants.Started in California and Arizona (According to Wikipedia) . -
Brown v. Broard of Education
Was a court case on segregation in public schools. Taken place in 1954. Oliver L.Brown's daughter Linda Brown who had to walk six blocks to Monroe Elementary.( A segregated school). Only knowing that a white school was seven blocks away from her home. -
Rosa Parks in Montogomery
Rosa Parks is a very important person that helped change segregeation. It was a rule that african-americans were supposed to sit in the back of the bus or stand. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat. She was arrested for not giveing up her seat to a white man. -
Montogomery Bus Boycott
Was a protest, that took place after Rosa Parks was arrested. Rosa parks was arrested becuase of not giving her seat to a white man. The rule stated that african americans were to sit in the back or stand up when in the bus. -
Southern Manifesto
Was related Brown vs. Board of Education. A document that over ruled the Brown vs. Board case. It was set to keep things as is. Continuing segregation and such. -
SCLC
SCLC or Southern Christian Leadership Conference was run and taken care of as start by Martin Luther King Jr. It was setup by Martin Luther King Jr. and some black ministers as a civil rights group. The Montogomery Bus Boycott was actually the trigger or calling for this that inspired many people. -
Little Rock 9
A group of arican american children attended Little Rock Central High.This was also related to the Brown vs. Board case. Nine african american students attnded the high school, in the picture the caption states that they were escorted into the high school. -
SNCC
SNCC or Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. Played a big role in the the Civil Rights Movement. Mostly funded by the North. Focused on the strength of African Americans. Was there at the time of the vietnam war.
