Flood of 2008
The entire city of Cedar Rapids froze while the city was impacted by a huge flood. Record breaking water levels destroyed homes, businesses and much much more. We are still feeling the effects today. -
Haiti Earthquake
The poverish country of Haiti was hit with a giant earthquake. The world sprang to action to help. -

A large oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico left a lasting impact on the resources in the Gulf. -
Foreign Exchange Host
When I arrived home from a trip this summer, I was greeted my my family that had two new members. Twin, 13-year-old foreign exchange students from France stayed with my family for 15 days. We became very close. -
Medal of Honor to Iowan
Staff Sergeant Salvatore Giunta was presented the Medal of Honor today. This was a proud moment for Iowans. -
Surgery
I had my very first surgery in 2010. I had my adnoids and turbinates removed while under general anesthetic. -

Senator Gabrielle Giffords was shot in Arizona. Others were killed while she is still fighting for her life.
