newton explained the theory of inertia which states that an object in motion tends to stay in motion, and an object at rest tends to stay at rest. Also newton discovered the law of gravity which states that every partical of matter in the universe attracts everey other partical with a force that is directly proportional to the product of the masses of the products and inveraly proportional to the square of the distance between them.
