this was dealing with the ship "Lusitania" was a cargo / passenger ship. When the vessel was transporting people they had supplies that Germans thought that the food.and blankets were part of the war supplies. So then the Germans sank it by using U-boats with torpedos. -
Vickers Machine Gun
THis was gun that was water cooled. And it was created to make it so then it wouldnt jam up. Itwas an upgrade towards fighting tactics because then they could continue a rater fo fire almost constant. THe down fall to this was there had to be atleast 6-8 men to run the gun. -
The battle of the Somme
This was one iof the first ever deadilest battles. The reason if this is that there was a death toll of around 58,000 people and they fouhgt in trenches the most in this battle becuase of the new war tactics of gases and such. -
U boats are launched
On this date the germans had decided to release a fleet of unrestricted U boats. THis would give them an advantage towards water / naval warfare. And the Us and other countries didn't like the idea of sneaky attacks -
Zimmerman Telegraph
This was dealing with Germany trying to persuade Mexico to attcak the United states "us". So then this would make it so we the USA wouldn't enter the first world war. Germany was tryingb to do this because they were worried about us entering the war. When they created the deal with Mexico they wanted to agree if they won then Mexico was granted Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. -
Russian Revolution
The tsar was being replaced by a new form of government.ANd this was a big down fall for the Tsar.After this was being done there were other plans dealing with changing and exchanging governments. This would help in allowing the Russians to create a more union government. This all mean that Russia was having their own civil war between two types of government the Tsar and the bolsheviks and this became out of hand. The bolsheviks won and they became the USSR. -
USA enters World War One
on this day the Us declared war onb the germans. ANd when this had occured -
Treaty of Versailles
This treaty was the reason why the war ended finally.
