Soviet Unions Luna 2
Soviet Union set out Luna 2 into outer space, it was a succesful lauch, and Luna 2 struck the moon. -
Luna 9
Soviet Union had a series of the "Luna's", Luna 9 landed the first capsule of the rocket onto the moon, this was very succesful. Americans were competing with Soviet Union. -
Apollo 8
Apollo 8 was launched using the powerful Saturn 5 booster. It took three days for Apollo to reach the moon, and then orbited the moon -
Apollo 11
Like the Soviet Union, Americans had a series of rockets named Apollo. Apollo 11 was launched and made Americas first lunar landing. -
The Eagle
The Eagle was the lunar landing module aboard which were Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin. Neil Armstrong took the first step on the moon and said, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
