    Congress authorizes President Bush to use military force against Iraq, a.k.a., War. The Senate vote was 77 to 23.

    UN starts weapon inspections in Iraq. Saddam Hussein agrees with UN means as long as it is not an excuse for US military.

    Pfc. Jessica Lynch was part of a force which was moving into Baghdad. She was captured by the Irag soldiers and was held prisoner. She was later rescued by the American Special Forces.

    Saddam Hussein's sons, Uday and Qusay, were killed in Mosul where they were hiding in a house. This came after weeks of intelligence by the American and Coalition Forces who were following Saddam's sons as they were moving throughout the country.

    After receiving intelligence after hostile questioning from family members and bodyguards soldiers were sent in to Adwar to capture or kill Saddam Hussein. This mission was called Operation Red Dawn.

    Four American Civilian Contractors from a company named "Blackwater", a private police force hired by the U.S., were captured, killed, and dragged through the streets in Fallujah. Their bodies were then hung over a bridge.

    Abu Ghraib Prison was where the Iraq insurgents were held after being captured. One of the American soldiers took pictures of how inhuman these prisoners were being treated. He turned these pictures over to his supervisors and after a period of time, these American soldiers were put on trial for their demeaning and excessive torture to the prisoners.

    President George Bush ordered an increase in troops for the Iraq war to increase security in Al Anbar Providence and Baghdad. It was ordered that 20,000 more troops be sent over and he extended 4,000 Marines%u2019 tour.
