The film strip went obsolete in the year approximately 1980's because people could start using TV's and phones to play movies. -
VCR
The VCR went obsolete in approximately the year 1995. Also it was replaced by DVD's -
Typewriter
I am not sure the exact date of when it went obsolete but they started disappearing around 1998 and people started using computers. -
Walkman
The Walkman went obsolete in approximately the year 2001 when it was replaced by the iPod. -
Polaroid
The Polaroid started becoming obsolete in the year 2008. This is happening because everyone is now using there phones to take pictures and don't need Polaroid's anymore. -
Floppy Disk
The floppy disk was a popular thing for people to download and save all their data on their computer. But in the year 2009 Sony discontinued the floppy disk. -
Cursive Writing
There is no exact date when people stopped teaching cursive writing but it slowly started going obsolete in the last 5 years. Kids are not going to know how to read it let alone write it. -
Alarm Clocks
People have stopped using alarm clocks the past couple years because now pretty much everyone has a phone and there is a place you can set an alarm on your phone so why use a alarm clock? -
GPS
I am not sure exactly when the GPS went obsolete but I know people started to stop using them around 2015 because they could use google maps on their phone. Same with paper maps people stopped using them to go to a GPS.Now the maps and GPS are both obsolete. You may see a couple of people using them but I doubt it. -
CD
There is no exact date of when the CD's went obsolete but they are slowly disappearing because with phones people can just download songs on apps.
