Pagers and Beepers
These were used to alert people when they are needed by beeping. These were replaced by cellphones because they can call people and they can take them everywhere. -
Fax Machine
This was used as a way to share paperwork and be able to print it out. These were replaced by emails because you can send paperwork and print it out. -
Payphone
Payphones were used to call people before the use of cellphones, which is the reason they became obsolete. When people go out of their houses they can just use their cellphones. -
VHS
A block like shape with film inside which was used to play movies inside of a VHS player. They went out of business when movie companies stopped producing their movies on the VHS and started using DVDs. -
Typewriter
These were used a typing resources, and these were replaced by computer which was easier to use and fix mistakes. -
Walkman
A way to take a cassette anywhere you go, also listening to it only by yourself. CD player in cars and MP3 players took over the consumers and people stopped producing music on cassettes. -
Flip phone
They were one of the first smaller set of phones used with a tiny screen on top and a keyboard on the bottom. These were replaced by Blackberries and Iphones which were the new trending things. -
Blockbuster
Blockbuster was a company for people to rent movies for a lower price than buying them. Many people started using online streaming as it became easier to access and cheaper, so Blockbuster had to file for bankruptcy. -
DVD
A small circular disc that replaced the VHS as a way to watch movies. Online streaming replaced DVDs because you can get more movies for a cheaper prices and it didn't take up as much storage. -
Phonebooks
These were used to find people names and phone numbers. These went obsolete because of cellphones because now we can just put someones name and phone and it will remember. Also the internet because now we can just search up peoples names and get a phone number.
